Clark D. Ivory is a builder. He has led Ivory Homes since he bought the company from his father in 2000. To date, the Ivory Companies have built more than 25,000 homes and 4,000 apartments. Clark was recently named by the Salt Lake Chamber as the “Giant in Our City,” which is the most prestigious business award given in Utah.

Clark dedicates a large portion of earnings to community causes. In 2017 he joined his daughter Abby in forming the non-profit Ivory Innovations in response to the escalating challenges within the housing industry. Ivory Innovations provides unwavering support to US entrepreneurs and organizations that oQer innovative solutions to housing aQordability.

Clark grew up in Millcreek, Utah as a slightly above average student with a passion for tennis and football. He cultivated the art of selling at the young age of 14, selling erasable Paper Mate pens and later Nike shoes to little league teams and high schools.

Clark served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Rome, Italy. While studying Italian in the Mission Training Center, he met Christine Cahoon who served in Milan, Italy. They later married and have built an inspiring life together based on shared purpose and community service. They continue to have a passion for all things Italian!

Clark earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Utah before obtaining an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1992. Clark served as chair of the Salt Lake City Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, the Salt Lake Chamber Board of Governors, and the University of Utah's Board of Trustees. His dedication to addressing the most pressing issues in our community is evidenced by the creation of the Utah Impact Partnership, Utah Housing Preservation Fund, and Utah Community Builders. He is a collaborator who loves bringing people together to make a positive impact in the community.

Clark and Christine served as mission leaders in Romania and Moldova from 2014-2017. Upon their return they increased their philanthropic eQorts. They have provided thousands of scholarships to Utah students and established Ivory University House, housing 623 students at the University of Utah with all proceeds accruing to scholarships, internships and housing stipends.

Above all, Clark values family and friends. He and Christine have four daughters, one son, 3 sons-in-law, and six grandchildren.
